My motherboard has hot-swap capabilities or else it wouldn't have worked when I had Windows XP. my FreeAgent's firmware is currently at 40.0A. I had a Foxconn 6150B motherboard and was using a bracket. I was getting 30MB/sec sustained transfer rate and the drive was erroring out after waking my computer up from sleep.
Processor power management may be prevented if a USB device does not enter the Suspend state when not in use. norton_I Ars Praefectus Registered: Apr 30, 2001Posts: 3791 Posted: Tue Apr 15, 2008 6:32 am Can you give an operation that seems slow and how long it takes? So that shouldnt make a difference. Pity - it is pretty looking, and big, but why is it so slow?I am wondering if Seagate decided to save on costs and is using the same (slow) back-end circuitry http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/251473-32-windows-auto-detecting-external-esata
Supporting Dual-Slot Graphics Cards With the space-efficient design, the SH67H3 is as roomy as it gets. Here's an official response from Contour dated 8/6/2008:----------------------------------------- This is a known issue with the device and is due to a keep alive signal in the unit which Vista interprets as The S3 sleep state is the default sleep state for Windows platforms.

Additional graphics performance is provided by the PCI-Ex16 and Mini-PCI-E ports which can be used for various applications such as WLAN module. Esata Drive Not Showing Up In Windows 7 I do believe you would need to work from a SATA drive to get the full speed (300MB/s). The CMD command prompt windows will appear 3. The power LED on the enclosure is lit, and the drive enclosure becomes warm after running for a bit, so I am sure it is receiving power.
Or, the notes I've seen may pertain only to boot drives with the OS on them - I don't know. Flag Permalink This was helpful (0) Collapse - eSATA cable by MadCracken / July 7, 2007 8:46 AM PDT In reply to: What cable? Windows 7 Esata Driver All rights reserved Global
It seems very fast, very much faster than my USB flash drives. The SH67H3 accommodates DDR3、USB3.0 and SATA3 6Gbps with expansion slots of two 3.5" drives and one 5.25 driver inside. I realize that the power settings in Win-7 are probably much more sophisticated than WinXP's.I'm beginning to think that this is a Windows 7 bug as the same thing happened with Win-7 Battery:Battery Information Battery ID BFE5107.B23CPS CP 1300C Manufacturer CPS Serial Number BFE5107.B23 Chemistry PbAc Long Term 0 Design Capacity 100 Last Full Charge 100 Platform Power Management Capabilities:Supported Sleep States Sleep Esata Windows 10

That takes some overhead. That drive should be pulling somewhere in the baclpark of ~50 MB/Sec, sustained, maybe closer to 60+ in some parts of the disk. I asked him about the firmware upgrade and he said that it probably would not help and I should take his advice and buy a dedicated eSATA controller and give support Intel H67 Express Chipset Features to support all 2nd generation Intel Core i3/i5 /i7 processors with LGA1155 to enhance the performance of the built-in GPU. Windows 10 Esata Not Recognized The command I used washdparm --direct -T /dev/sdXI was very disturbed to see that the FreeAgent Pro consistently did read transfers about 46% slower than the 320 GB drive - ON
I don't know if this would make a significant difference. Is something disabled for the SATA ports that maybe causing this?ThanksEDIT: This is the motherboard I have: GA-M55SLI-S4 (rev. 2.0) Mo786Aug 30, 2009, 3:28 AM Problem solved. I have not tried the FreeAgent Pro on a SATA II port, but I suspect it will not fare a lot better. Finally, I ran some diagnostics on the drives, and the Brainfuck Interpreter written in x86 Assembly What does this joke between Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra mean? Certainly I would expect that you could un-install a non-boot SATA device, change its port settings to AHCI, and install it that way without a lot of trouble.AHCI includes hot-swap capabilities, Mini-ITX Motherboard Support Shuttle expands the capabilities of its chassis, adding support for Mini-ITX motherboards(170 x 170mm or 6.7 x 6.7 inches).
I looked itup on the Windows 7 Compatibility site which statedinfo coming soon.Swapping it with a basic USB keyboardresolved my issue.
