First they said the digital out doesn't send the signal, then I pointed them to the quick setup guide picture "C" (KDL-40s4100 model) and they then looked it up, apologized for I called up the Dish tv people, & they changed the set top box & even the HDMI cable, but still it was persisting. In the TV sound settings, the manual also refers to a function “A/V Sync” that is designed to “synchronize video and audio from your connected equipment”. Guess what, that didn't loose audio when the Sony did.
I just don't understand what would be different as I am getting correct output from all channels as it is. NO DICE. So why doesn't it? Isn't that worthless?
replied6 years ago. Denon also has a lower unit with HDMI conversion at $800 which is also nice but the quality of the AVR-2807 is definitely nicer. If the television broadcast does not contain a digital audio signal, then no sound will be heard through this connection. The setup menu seems very limited re sound and the manual is woefully inadequate.
