Plastic here is quite soft and thin so it's relatively easy. Think Anita of investigation is needed. Refit the switch as before and test. It definitely is not operating so I will be getting it in to a local mechanic that is familiar with smartcars.

If it doesn't work, make sure the fuse is OK as the corrosion on the commutator can increase electrical resistance which creates a spark gap which can cause too much power We repaired this by cutting the wire and fitting an auxiliary fuse connector to the side of the SAM unit. Might also try jiggling the electrical connector to see if that helps. think it was about £450 all in but i had some other bits done at the same time..
