solved I'm thinking about buying the HyperX Cloud 2, how much can people around me hear the sound from the headset? Type 'regedit' without quotes and click OK to open the Registry. 2. Sorry, there was a problem flagging this post. When you open Sounds and Multimedia in Control panel and select a sound to be played, is the arrow grayed out? Vista found the "new" hardware on reboot and I pointed it to the newly downloaded and unpacked driver. would you suggest i download Realtek instead of sigmatel?

Do this by opening Device Manager, expand the Sound, video and game controllers section, double-click on Sigmatel High Definition Audio CODEC to view its properties, click on the Details tab and Audio card works great in vista and ubuntu - but not at all in XPSP2.PLEASE HELP!! I tried most of the suggestions that I found with no luck. It'll be much appreciated if anyone could provide any sort of help in getting the microphone to work again.
